Rotterdam weather is characterized temperate, remaining mild and most agreeable through out the year. Summers in Rotterdam are warm but not overly so. Even during July and August – by far the hottest months of the year – temperatures tend to steer clear of extreme proportions, usually hovering around 20°C. Even the finest of spells can be intercepted by foul weather, one day’s clear blue, sunny skies followed by another’s overcast and rainy conditions, and a considerable drop in temperature. By winter, daylight hours are reduced and temperatures drop sufficiently. January is the coldest month of the year with daytime temperatures usually remaining around 4°C, dropping just bellow freezing point at night.
Weather in Rotterdam is blessed with evenly distributed amounts of rainfall. Although January and May tend to be the driest months of the year, rain in Rotterdam remains steady throughout the year averaging 1.5 inches to 2.5 inches per month.
